Romantic Getaway B&B -Seasons of My Heart- Oaxaca, Mexico

Bed & Breakfast at Rancho Aurora

Bed and Breakfast near Oaxaca MexicoNamed for the golden morning light of dawn, Rancho Aurora is located outside Oaxaca City in the Etla valley and is a wonderful getaway from the world at large.

Our new Bed and Breakfast is an artistic three room adobe house situated on the hill above the cooking school, constructed in the typical Mexican style with large patio that has a spectacular view of the valley. The house is very comfortable, with all the modern conveniences, including a full kitchen and large bathroom with sunken tub. Typical breakfasts are prepared by our staff to your liking.

The bedroom has a double bed and the living room has a futon couch that lowers into a double bed. The front patio has hammocks for relaxing, and beautiful plants all around. It is a great find for honeymooners, bird watchers, artists, writers and independent people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is not for people who need to go to the Zócalo every night, but rather for folks that are independent and seek the quieter, countryside of life.

Getaway for honeymooners, bird watchers, artists, writersBelow the guest house, nestled in the canyon among the cactus is Seasons of My Heart Cooking School, where people come from all over the world to study Oaxacan and international cooking. Many of our guests at the B & B are cooking school students that take a long weekend course (arriving Thursday and departingWednesday), or come for a few days and take a class or two. The cost of the B&B is $50 per person per day. Another option is to partake of the delicious afternoon meal when a class is in progress.

Since we are not near local transportation (a 20 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, 35 minute walk to the taxi stand in the village), renting a car is recommended, or we can arrange a car and driver for you. There are many hiking destinations including an extension of Monte Alban and other pre-Hispanic ruins. The villages within walking distance are friendly and safe.
